President Bola Tinubu has urged the 36 state governors to support local farmers to boost food production.
Tinubu said this during an emergency meeting with members of the National Executive Council, some key ministers, and security agencies at the council chambers of the State House, Aso Villa, Abuja.
The President spoke on food security, taking
his stand against food hoarding, following reports from Kano State and other areas about large-scale food hoarding in some warehouses.
The caption reads: “We cannot allow speculators, hoarders, and rent seekers to undermine our efforts in ensuring that food is widely available to all Nigerians."
"I urge all governors to trust the Central Bank of Nigeria with the management of the country's monetary policy and emphasize the need for the designated institution to effectively fulfill their mandate.
"I also ask our governors to always prioritize the welfare and prosperity of our people in their development programs, and I assure them that the Federal Government will continue to work diligently to improve the Nation's revenue profile.
"As leaders, we must always work together to address issues of insecurity, food security, and out-of-school children.”
